Thus, the club will provide the necessary support in the cases of all health personnel.

Founding president explained the purpose of the association

Founding president Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Ovayolu made a statement about the purpose of the association and said, “Today, new information, new ideas and new perspectives emerge every day. We cannot always access or keep up with this information. We cannot keep up with everything due to our busy daily lives and business lives. Language barriers and economic barriers are among our other common problems. In this case, the importance of teamwork and team spirit emerges. We thought that seminars and meetings are needed to increase the professional knowledge and skills of our midwives. In addition to education, research and training activities, our association was established to ensure that our midwives in the surrounding provinces and districts communicate and help each other. Our non-profit association also aims to organize aid campaigns if necessary, to support or receive support from people and organizations working on these issues. The first topics we consider in our meetings are updating classical birth information, management of risky births, postnatal care, breastfeeding counseling, Baby SPA/Massage, sleep training, Doula (birth coach) services, aromatherapy, reflexology, emergency obstetric care, non-stress test (NST) evaluation, rights and obligations of our midwives. Our club is open to everyone. We welcome contributions from everyone, especially our colleagues, nurses and midwives. We are open to suggestions on topics that you would like to see in the meetings organized for these trainings or that you think our midwives need. I would like to emphasize again how important our midwives are for reducing maternal and infant mortality, which is considered one of the development indicators of a country. We hope that physicians and allied health personnel, who work day and night at a pace that most people cannot handle, will be given the value they deserve and regain their dignity. As Gaziantep Midwives Club, we planned to hold our first meeting on 16.01.2022 in the seminar hall of Liv Hospital Gaziantep with the contributions of many academic people. You can find detailed information about the meeting on our social media accounts. Requests for participation have started to come from neighboring provinces and districts. We think that our first meeting will have a high number of participants. We had thought of using whatsapp and social media for our planning and announcements in the first place, and we are honored to see the support of the media. Thank you for the support of Memohaber. We wish it to be beneficial and beneficial to our people.”
